The Green Technology Initiative has been set up to help UK businesses reduce the carbon footprint of their IT systems in line with the government target of a 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2010. The Initiative is a non-commercial organisation providing the business community with free advice and information. We are supported by a wide range of Industry leaders whose experience and advice in all areas will be invaluable in achieving our aims. We are not here to exploit a green commercial opportunity, nor are we environmental campaigners. We simply recognise that reductions in emissions need to be made so we are looking into how, in practical terms, that process can start now. Most businesses cannot just decide to 'go green' after all their job is to make money for the shareholders not save the planet. Our job is to help them do both.
