Steve Bowden
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER - GREEN COMPUTING
IBM |
| |
|
|
Steve's 19 years of experience in the IT industry, working with many large and medium sized companies on their IT strategy, means he has experience of all types of server and storage technology, and how to use it optimally. His focus has always been on how to make IT work for the business. In that time he's seen both centralised, and distributed systems grow in importance at different times, driven by differing business pressures.
With the large energy cost rises, awareness of Carbon footprints, or just lack of space, his recent focus has been working with companies to understand how their differing server technologies deliver the business needs yet minimise their energy requirements and Carbon footprints. This typically starts with a review of their current environment, highlighting where potential savings can be made
